Washington — A deposition involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reportedly descended into brief chaos Thursday after Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) allegedly shared a photo of the closed proceeding with a right-wing media personality, prompting an angry outburst and a temporary halt to the session.
Sources close to the inquiry said committee staffers intervened when an image from inside the secure hearing appeared online minutes after being sent from a member’s phone. The leak immediately sparked confusion about how a photograph had been taken, given the strict confidentiality rules governing the session.
According to multiple attendees, Clinton appeared visibly frustrated when informed of the breach. “If there is one more breach of decorum,” she said sharply, according to one official present. “Then the deal is off and I will tell everything. Everything.”
Clinton’s remark, described by witnesses as spontaneous and heated, appeared to reference longstanding conspiracy theories connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The comment drew murmurs in the room and a brief recess.
Neither Clinton’s spokesperson nor Boebert’s office immediately responded to requests for comment. The committee chair later stated that discussions would continue “under reinforced guidelines to protect the integrity of the process.”
By late afternoon, the deposition resumed and continued without further disruption, according to congressional aides familiar with the session.
